Care Instructions for Wool Items

▸WASHING

For wool garments, only delicate hand washing is suitable. You can use the classic method—fill a basin with water and gently wash the item yourself. Most washing machines now have special hand and delicate wash cycles, and some even have a specific "Wool Wash" function.

Wool clothing cannot tolerate hot water. The washing temperature should not exceed 30°C. Otherwise, you risk shrinking the item and losing its original vibrant color.

Avoid aggressive laundry detergents. Alkaline substances can damage wool fibers, leading to faster wear. It's better to use special wool detergents or shampoo. For expensive fabrics (like cashmere or alpaca), baby shampoo is an excellent choice.

Do not wring, soak for long periods, or scrub. All you can do is gently squeeze out excess water from the item. Avoid high spin settings when using a machine. Some wool items, like suits, are best taken to a dry cleaner.

▸DRYING

Wool items should be dried on a flat surface. Lay the item on a towel away from direct sunlight and heating appliances, allowing it to air dry at room temperature. Do not hang wool garments, especially sweaters, as this can lead to stretching and loss of shape.

Since wool tends to absorb a lot of water, you can carefully roll the item in a towel to absorb excess moisture.

▸IRONING

Some wool fabrics can be ironed, but this should be done through a damp cloth using the "wool" setting or a steam function on your iron. If there are shiny areas on the garment from prolonged wear and friction, you can steam those spots or use a stiff brush.

By following these guidelines, you can extend the life of your wool items and keep them looking their best.

Store folded to prevent stretching and deformation. Remember that moths love wool and fur items, including leather. They often choose folds of clothing as their favorite hiding spots. Therefore, always keep a moth repellent in your closet.
